Do we need the WhatsApp Business API, or will the WhatsApp Business app do?
A bot runs on the WhatsApp Business Platform (the Cloud API) — the free WhatsApp Business app has no API to automate. We set up the account, get your business verified with Meta and connect your number.
Can someone from our team take over a chat from the bot?
Yes. The bot hands the chat to your team when a customer asks for a person, when it is not sure of the answer, or on rules you set — with the conversation so far attached, so nobody has to repeat themselves.
What does WhatsApp itself charge?
Meta bills per template message your business sends to start a conversation, at rates set by country and message type (marketing, utility or authentication). Replies to a customer who messaged you in the last 24 hours are free. These fees go to Meta and are separate from our build cost.
